It is very difficult to spot all the mistakes you may have made when you have put so much time and effort into your project. After being so close to it all this time that you've been working on it, it's understandably just not possible to be able to take a step back and see it from the viewpoint of anyone but yourself.

A pair of 'new eyes' can suggest changes that will present your hard work at its best to your marker.

Use an automatic spellchecker in, for example, Word and you might think you're free of any errors. But spellcheckers don't catch them all – they don't check 'in context' – which means sentences such as "He turned himself into the police" are given the 'OK'! (Unless he's a magician – see the box on the left.) They can never be a substitute for a real human reading something fresh for the first time.
